Durham University Alumni Fee Scholarship for Postgraduate Students 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 Entry

We are keen to support you in realising this through the Durham University Alumni Fee Scholarship. This Scholarship for Durham University alumni will contribute part of the cost of tuition fees for postgraduate degree and PGCE programmes across all faculties of the University.

Aim and Benefits 

15% discount for:

• MSc Economics (L1T109, L1T409, L1T309)
• MSc Finance (all routes - N3K109, N3K209, N3K309. N3K409, N3KC09)

10% discount for:

• All other programmes

Requirements 

1. As long as you hold a Bachelor's or higher degree from Durham University and apply for a course that begins within the 2023-24, 2024-25 or 2025-26, you are automatically eligible for this Scholarship - you do not need to apply separately.
2. Those holding CHE/DHE or postgraduate/CPD credits only will unfortunately not be eligible to receive the Scholarship.
3. Your must be self-funding (or majority self-funding) in order to receive this scholarship.  The value of the contribution to your fees must exceed the value of this proposed scholarship.  For example: if your fee is £10,000 and you have a 10% Alumni Fee Discount you must intend to make a personal contribution of £1,001 in order to receive the scholarship, excluding any other third-party support of fee sponsorship.  Any repayable loans used towards fees would count as self-funding.
4. Those who have outstanding financial debt to the University will not be eligible until the debt has been cleared.
5. For the purposes of both schemes, alumni are defined as those who have been awarded a degree qualification by Durham University, and who studied at Durham University (i.e. not a degree conferred by the University for study at another institution, for example Common Awards at another institution). A student in receipt of government loans for study is considered self-funding. The scheme do not apply to students who are not majority self-funding.
6. If another scholarship specifically excludes stacking (combining) that scholarship with the Alumni Discount, then the Alumni Discount would not apply.

1. Apply for a course

   As long as you hold a degree from Durham University and apply for a course that begins within the 2024-25 academic year, you are automatically eligible for this Scholarship - you do not need to apply separately.

2. If your invoice for your postgraduate programme does not reflect your alumni status

   Please notify the University of your alumni status by e-mailing [email protected]   Once this has been confirmed and corrected then please request your invoice be corrected by using the contact details on the invoice.

   If you have already received a scholarship from the Business School for one of their Masters or MBA courses, please email [email protected] for any clarification required.
